Before hair transplant

Hey, it’s Javed Choudhari. You probably know me as the captain of Indian wheelchair basketball teams and from reality TV. But let me share a bit about my journey, one that’s had its ups and downs, including hair loss. Eight years back, life had a sudden turn—I lost a leg in a horrible accident. Since then, a mixture of stress, medications, and genetics took a toll on my once-thick hair, leaving it noticeably thinner. But I wasn’t about to let that define me. Driven to reclaim my confidence, I went with the HairMate clinic for a guiding hand.
Here are some key factors I considered:

        1. Expert Consultation: HairMate experts provided valuable insights into my
options.
        2. Education on Treatments: Understanding different treatments helped me
make an informed decision.
         3. Supportive Staff: The clinic’s staff made the process less daunting with their
guidance and support.

Having considered my options, I opted for a hair transplant. Now, I eagerly anticipate the results, hoping this transformation will not only revive my hair but also my confidence. Check out my before-and-after photos on the HairMate website and learn more about my journey in a YouTube video.

Getting My Hair Transplant at Hairmate

I was excited and a bit nervous as I scheduled my hair transplant at HairMate clinic in Pune. The staff did a great job preparing me, starting with designing my new hairline and trimming the recipient area. Here’s how it went down:

     1. Prep Work: Hairline designing and recipient area trimming got everything ready for the procedure.
        2. Graft Extraction: The process kicked off with extracting the grafts from the donor area.
            3. Implantation: Slit making on the recipient area was followed by the
implantation of the grafts.
The whole procedure, transplanting 4,500 grafts, took about 10 hours. The staff was fantastic, explaining everything patiently and even allowing me breaks to stretch and move. Plus, they provided lunch! As the procedure ended, I couldn’t help but feel tense about whether the hair in my donor area would grow back. But the staff assured me that those follicles are resistant to hair loss. So, I’m eagerly awaiting my new hairline over the next few months.

1 Week After My Hair Transplant Surgery

It’s been a week since my hair transplant surgery, and I’m thrilled to share a quick recovery update. Time flew by, and I just had my first hair wash to remove all the blood clots. Here’s what I experienced:

     1. Gentle Shampooing: Following the clinic’s recommendation, I used a gentle baby shampoo and lightly massaged it into my scalp without rubbing too hard.It felt  incredibly refreshing to wash away the first week of healing.
     2. Shedding Phase: During shampooing, some transplanted hairs may shed, which can be alarming at first. But it’s completely normal and part of the shedding phase that often starts about 1 week post-op as the follicles enter  the growth cycle. The timing and extent of shedding vary for each person.
      3. Subsided Swelling and Healing: Personally, I’m relieved to say that the
swelling has fully subsided, and I no longer experience any pain or tenderness in my scalp. My donor area has healed nicely, and all the scabs have fallen off too.

Overall, I’m feeling great one week later! I expected to still be sore and uncomfortable, so I’m pleasantly surprised by how quickly I bounced back. Though I know there’s still a  long journey ahead before I see the final results, this first week fills me with optimism. I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing the changes over the next few weeks and will continue posting updates on my progress. Patience and persistence are key! You can check out the before-and-after photos on the website, and I’ve also documented my first week of recovery in a video diary, which you can watch here.

My Hair Transplant - 1 Month Update

It’s been a month since my hair transplant, and I know many people have questions and concerns at this stage, given the lack of outward changes. I’ve found myself wondering, “What’s next?” But I’ve learned that this pause in visible progress is normal. Right now, my
transplanted follicles are still in the resting phase, recovering from being moved.

Shedding Phase: Next is the shedding phase, where some transplanted hairs
fall out before new growth begins. This allows the follicles to reset their cycles
     for thicker, fuller hairs.
Timing: Shedding typically starts around 4-6 weeks post-op, signaling the
start of regrowth. I’m prepared for increased shedding soon as my hair enters
     this next phase.
Optimism: While shedding can be unsettling, it’s a positive sign of new hair
     growth.
Patience: Staying patient allows follicles time to activate and produce healthy,
      permanent growth.

Post-op Care: Following post-op care instructions is crucial for optimal results. I’m optimistic that everything will turn out well. As long as I follow post-op care instructions, my new hairline will fill in beautifully over the coming months. Check out before-and-after photos on the website, and for more details, watch my

My Hair Transplant at 3 Months - Progress Update

Approaching the end of my 3-month hair transplant journey, here’s the update:

  • Shedding Continues: Though shedding persists, I anticipate thicker growth in
    2-3 months.
  • Minoxidil Use: I’m sticking to daily minoxidil application, despite initial
concerns about hair fall during application.
  • Scalp Sensations: Occasional minor itching is part of the healing process.
My routine focuses on maintaining healthy hair
  • Minoxidil Application: Twice daily, following doctor’s instructions.
  • Nutrition: Prioritizing a protein-rich diet and avoiding junk food.

Hair regeneration takes time, so I’m staying patient and following medical advice for optimal results. Despite initial doubts, I’m confident in my transplant’s success. Stay tuned for another update showing fuller hair in a few months!

My Hair is Growing Back at 4 Months Post Transplant!

Hey everyone! Can you believe it’s been 4 months since my hair transplant? Time
really flies!
Here’s what I’m doing for continued care:

  • Supplements and Medication: Taking a weekly multi-vitamin and applying
minoxidil daily as recommended by my doctor.
  • Coconut Oil Massage: Also following my doctor’s advice by massaging
coconut oil into my scalp a few times a week.

Some people think hair transplants are super painful and disruptive, but that wasn’t my experience at all. After just a couple of days of sensitivity, I was back to my normal routine. Modern hair restoration procedures are surprisingly smooth. I highly recommend checking out HairMate clinic if you’re considering a transplant. Their doctors and techniques are top-notch, and recent advances have made the process more affordable. And here’s something cool: you might not even need multiple transplants anymore. My great results are from just one surgery. Modern hair restoration can be incredibly effective! I’m seeing visible thickness and fullness across my scalp, and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turning out by sticking to my treatment plan.
